Better Late Then Never

So, I have come to realize that I am probably the last person on the planet to finally post about Christmas and the New Year. I wish I had an excuse, but alas I do not. Christmas this year was both a little sad and very exciting. Jason had to work both Christmas Eve and Christmas Day (he was able to be home for Christmas Morning though). The girls and I baked cookies for our friends and neighbors and passed them out on Christmas Eve. We also baked cookies for the "Big Guy", aka Santa. Santa was very particular this year. He put his request in early. I know he was happy when he arrived at our house to find his favorite Chewy Ginger cookies. Faith prolonged going to bed as long as possible. Every time she heard a noise she was in the living room trying to find Santa. It was cute the first few times, but by the 100 time I was at the end of my rope. Finally she fell asleep and I could take care of business. The one nice thing is that the girls slept in on Christmas morning. At around 8:30 the girls came rushing into our room yelling for us to get out of bed. Faith actually said, "Wake up lazy bones." I love that girl. The girls couldn't rip through their gifts fast enough. They were so excited. Little Charlie just wanted to chew on the wrapping paper. He enjoyed watching the girls though. We had a wonderful Christmas breakfast before Jason had to get ready for work. The rest of the day the kids and I spent in our pajamas playing with all of our new toys. We were all spoiled this year.

For New Years we spent the evening with our good friends the Lindquist (you guys rock). We had an awesome time. We ate, then we ate some more and then we ate even more. Did I mention we ate a lot. Jessica made this really yummy chicken nuggets. Now while that in itself is no big deal, you might be interested to know that they were coated in broccoli puree. For those of you who know me well, you know I hate anything green, especially broccoli. She made them from the new cookbook out by Jerry Seinfeld's wife. I think Jessica performed a miracle. We had fun eating, playing games and laughing so hard we almost wet ourselves. I only wish we had remembered to take a picture of all of us. It was a great way to ring in the New Year.

I look back on 2007 with very few regrets. Jason and I have been very blessed. We have two wonderful families. We have three AMAZING children. We are still madly in love (either that or we have driven each other crazy; madly in love, crazy, its all the same). :) And we have wonderful friends. We are excited about where 2008 will take us. So many things to come this year. Charlie will be turning one!!! Jason will be leaving the Army and starting a new career. Faith will be starting school. Emma will have her very first dance recital. Jason's brother Sean will be marrying a wonderful girl named Liz in October (Faith and Emma will be flower girls, I'm already crying just thinking about it). I will finally get to meet my new little niece (she was born in November.) And lastly Jason and I will celebrate our 8th wedding anniversary. I want to thank all of our friends and family for being involved in our lives this past year as well as many before. We look forward to making our current relationships even stronger and making new ones as well. I love you all very much.

Faith was so excited about this clock. She is learning to tell time now.

Emma was very excited about her new dress. Thank you Nana.
